Yoga isn’t about touching your toes, it’s about what you learn on the way down.
Jigar Gor
I have been teaching Hatha and Yin Yoga since 2016. My practice began in 2005 and has been a constant source of strength and joy ever since.
With a professional background in nursing and health education, I bring an evidence-based understanding of anatomy, movement, and wellbeing to my teaching. My approach blends traditional yoga philosophy with modern insights into health and self-care, offering classes that are both accessible and deeply grounding.
I aim to create a calm and supportive environment where students can build strength, flexibility, and awareness, on the mat and beyond. I am also a co-manager of Calderdale Yoga Centre, where I continue to share yoga as a practical practice for everyday life.

Where I teach
I teach at Calderdale Yoga Centre in the beautiful town of Hebden Bridge. Nestled in the Calder Valley, surrounded by hills and woodland, it’s the perfect setting to slow down and reconnect through yoga. My classes offer a calm, friendly space to move, breathe, and find balance, whether you’re a local or just visiting this special part of Yorkshire.
I have been attending Chris’ yoga classes for the past two years and can confidently recommend her as an excellent teacher. She has a genuine ability to adapt each session to meet both individual and group needs, ensuring the classes are inclusive and accessible to all. Her kind, caring approach creates a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable and encouraged in their practice.

After breaking my foot in four places, I wondered whether I would ever walk without a limp again. I am so thankful that I discovered yoga with Chris. I have now been going to her classes for three years, and I can now stand and balance on the foot I broke. My yoga journey has been empowering, confidence-building and full of learning.
